Who are we looking for?
GHD has an exciting opportunity for a Dams & Hydropower Project Manager with experience in projects relating to dams, levees, water resources, civil works infrastructure and stormwater facilities such as flood control works, channels, and culverts. This position will be Part Time as Needed and will work from our Harrisburg, PA supporting projects in the West Region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project Management: Manage projects related to dams and reservoirs, levees, water storage, pumped storage, and hydrokinetic hydropower projects, conveyance and flood control facilities, mine and mill waste tailings dams and embankments, canals, and foundations for structures and buildings.
- Oversee dam and levee safety evaluations and the design and construction of new and modified dams and levees, including earthfill, hydraulic fill, concrete arch, and concrete gravity dams.
- Geotechnical Investigations: Supervise geotechnical investigations and the geotechnical aspects of planning and designing dam, levee, and hydropower projects.
- Levee System Projects: Oversee levee system projects, including inspections, geotechnical site investigations and analyses of stability and seepage, preparation and review of plans and specifications for earthwork construction, and construction observation, testing, and documentation.
- conduct security evaluations at hydropower dams and implementing measures to improve security.
Qualifications;
- Minimum 30 years of experience in technical and project delivery of dams, levees, and hydropower projects.
- PE registration required
- USACE project experience required
- National and international experience preferred.
- Experience with hydroelectric project licensing preferred.
- Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of safety evaluations, design, and construction practices for various types of dams and levees.
- Experience with levee system projects, including stability and seepage analyses, and earthwork construction management.
