About the role

As the Senior Developer you will provide support and specialised development skills for the implementation of technology solutions to meet the business requirements for the Bank, with a primary focus on Banking and Payments Systems. Your day to day focus will be to support the banking systems through automating and integrating the processes to improve development life cycle and ensure that the solutions are aligned with the Bank's enterprise architecture, security, risk and IT standards and policies and business systems.

Your background

  • Experience in high availability systems, such as Tier 0/1 applications

  • Solid experience as a Senior Developer providing support for complex systems and/or Banking and Payments Systems.

  • Solid experience providing complex incident and problem resolution, debugging and system enhancements.

  • Knowledge of software development using Java.

  • Technical skills in PowerShell, Linux commands, CI/CD Automation, configuration management, observability, cloud-native technologies, pipeline as code, Git workflows, API management, as well as network and front-end troubleshooting.

  • Experience in DevOps automation toolsets/languages such YAML, Powershell, Bash and Terraform.

  • Experience working on DevOps Tools such as GIT, JIRA, Jenkins and Artifactory.

  • Experience with Azure Cloud services and tools, such as Azure DevOps Services, AKS, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insight, ACR, Azure CLI, Azure SQL MI, etc

  • Business stakeholders and peer collaboration to refine business requirements and to ensure the requirements are met.

  • Actively contribute to the system solution design.

  • Contribute to identification/breakdown/prioritisation of development components and tasks, as well as estimations.

  • Support cross team collaboration and mentor and guide developers as they work through development decisions.

  • Contribute to Developer Knowledge Base and continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Write, review and maintain system documentation, ensuring it meets relevant IT Standards and is current.

This role is part of the Corporate Services Group, Information Technology Department.

The Corporate Services Group is responsible for the effective provision of information technology, workplace (asset management, facilities management, building security, and procurement) and data management services to support the delivery of the Bank’s policy, operational and corporate objectives. Information Technology Department - responsible for transforming and developing the core IT functions that support the Reserve Bank's policy, operational and corporate objectives.
