This posting is for multiple technology positions across various Teams in Southwest's Warrior Hire Program. The mission of the Warrior Hire Program is to recruit and hire transitioning Veterans and guide and support them through the beginning of their corporate career by providing them opportunities for professional growth, camaraderie, and mentorship. Additional details:
- Enterprise Mobile Foundation (EMF) team: Collects test metrics to evaluate both the availability and the reliability of our connectivity used by all our front-line employees and owns a testing platform that provides a near real time and historical look at the user experience. This team prefers Candidates to have experience with all mobility management, connectivity and onboard WiFi services and ability to do the following:
- Design, deploy, and maintain cellular networks (LTE, 5G) within airport facilities, ensuring optimal coverage and performance.
Work with DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), small cells, and macro cell deployments tailored for airport environments.
Collaborate with wireless carriers, infrastructure vendors, and airport authorities to plan and implement cellular improvements.
Perform RF site surveys, spectrum analysis, and signal propagation studies.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve connectivity or capacity issues.
Ensure compliance with FAA, FCC, TSA, and airport-specific regulations regarding wireless systems.
Participate in network security assessments, ensuring cellular infrastructure is secure from intrusion or unauthorized use.
Support integration of cellular with other airport IT systems (Wi-Fi, IoT sensors, emergency systems).
Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Experience with airport-specific infrastructure (e.g., ARINC, SITA networks).
Understanding of emergency response communication systems (e.g., FirstNet).
Knowledge of FAA/TSA requirements around communication infrastructure
- This Dallas-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for trainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the Dallas area.
- U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.
