ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST POSITION OVERVIEW:
Orthopedic Centers of Colorado (OCC) is a large orthopedic practice. The Central Billing Office (CBO) is expanding! We are looking for an exceptional, experienced accounts receivable PRN team member that is located in Colorado Springs. ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review insurance aging reports
- Resubmit and work corrected claims and appeals
- Review and manage aging claims and accounts receivable, as well as comprehensive follow up to maximize reimbursement Requirements:
- Read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) or interpret denials, required
- Understand the basics of accounting procedures such as debits/credits, required
- Appeal insurance claims
- Familiarity with electronic remittances

$19-23 Per hour

Requirements
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Possess excellent computer skills, skilled in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Professional behavior and communication in all interactions, communicates well; written and verbally. Collaborative Team Player
- Knowledge of CPT (procedures), ICD-10 (diagnosis), and modifiers, required
- Understand health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage plans. Including other Insurance payer with full use of Insurance Portals
- Ability to research denial reasons providing solutions and identifying denial trends.
- Minimum two years of current medical billing and collections experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of full cycle medical billing experience, required
- High School diploma or equivalent, required
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typical business office environment
- Possibility of local travel
- Must live in Colorado Springs area
- There will be onsite training, then can move remote
- Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
- Frequent standing, walking and sitting
- Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling 10 pounds or more
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
