Medical Team Lead - Humanitarian Response Roster

CORE is in search of a Medical & Health Response Team Lead who will primarily direct our health and medical interventions during a broad array of emergencies throughout the United States, including but not limited to medicalresponse to natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other identified crises. This role is centered on leading on-the-ground medical operations, conducting comprehensive health assessments, performing wellness checks, assisting with clinical referral services, and coordinating the distribution of essential emergency relief supplies to isolated communities in crisis.  The Team Lead will engage directly in the frontline of medical service delivery, guiding team members in offering high-quality, compassionate care tailored to the specific needs of affected individuals. Addressing the complex health challenges faced when providing medical support in the aftermath of a disaster, this position demands a hands-on approach to medical leadership. The focus is on applying medical expertise in diverse emergency scenarios, ensuring swift, effective health interventions that make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.  Roster work is available on an as-needed basis (it is not full-time or continuous).  Roster members may be called upon to deploy based on the specific needs arising from emergency situations, with the understanding that deployment opportunities and lengths may vary. Candidates should be prepared for rapid deployment anddemonstrate flexibility and a commitment to serve in various locations acrosscountry, and potentially the globe,as required.  Candidates for this position should be based in the United States but can expect to likely deploy globally.  The ideal candidate will possesssignificant experience in emergency medicine or public health, with a track record of leading teams in delivering patient-centered care in high-pressure environments. This leader will not only excel in medical proficiency but also embody a deep humanitarian commitment, driving our mission to provide immediate and impactful health services during critical times of need.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with local government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community-based organizations to ensure the effective delivery of medical services and essential supplies to all individuals in crisis situations. 
• Working closely with CORE's program and emergency response departments to align projects and activities with the organization's broader emergency response strategy, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to aid delivery. 
• Leading and managing a response team of up to5 members, overseeing the implementation of activities while ensuring compliance with CORE's safety and security protocols as well as those of local authorities. This includes direct supervision of the Medical Team members during deployments, ensuring that all medical interventions are carried out efficiently and compassionately. 
• In coordination with CORE’s procurement department,identifying and securing the necessary goods and services for response team activities, including medical supplies and logistics for deployments. 
• Preparing and submitting program reports,monitoring budgets and expenses to ensure efficient use of resources. 

Deliverables for this role include: 

• Establishing and maintaining a network of contacts among international and local NGOs, government entities, and other relevant organizations to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing. 
• Providing incremental reports and metrics on activities, progress, and challenges, with additional reports as requested by CORE leadership. 
• Completing detailed, summative reporting after each deployment, including outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future responses. 
• Developing procurement plans for materials and supplies needed for emergency responses, ensuring readiness for rapid deployment. 
• Documenting key insights from interviews, discussions, and coordination meetings to inform ongoing and future emergency response efforts. 

Scope and Travel

• Called upon in with short notice for deployments of 2-10 weeks as needed.  

Qualifications

• BA/BSc in a relevant field or 5+ years relevant practical experience, Master’s Preferred.   
• Must be an advanced life support (ALS) provider type 
• Active National Registry (NREMT) certification (for EMS professionals only) 
• Active state (any) licensure (for nurse, physician assistant, or physician applicants)  
• Medical admin experience preferred. 
• Current CPR certification required 
• Hold a driver’s license with no significant infractions in the last 5 years
