Zoetis Global Medical Affairs – US Companion Animal (CA) Medical Portfolio Support team is composed of a group of talented therapeutic medical experts who partner with marketing brand managers to develop strategies for the brands they support, lead medical strategies, data generation plans and educational projects, and are the medical experts in developing educational and advertising/promotional content for the Companion Animal line of innovative new and marketed products/services. Reporting to the Associate Director of Dermatology, this role is a core executing member of the US dermatology medical team, working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment to support the delivery of a strong US dermatology medical strategy aligned to global priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical Portfolio Support and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support the development and execution of medical insights and messaging that inform brand marketing plans and product responses to competitors for both on-market and future product launches.
  • Participate as an active member of the US Dermatology Therapeutic Focus Group, contributing scientific and medical expertise to advance alignment across the portfolio.
  • Engage with GMA partner teams including Medical Portfolio Support colleagues, Medical Education, KOL and Strategic Partnerships, and Clinical Research to support coordinated and non-duplicative medical strategy delivery.
  • Create and/or contribute to agency or KOL-generated medical content for products across the aligned portfolio; participate as a subject matter expert in the medical review of brand-aligned content.
  • Build cross-portfolio expertise to provide collaborative and coordinated medical support that aligns to business needs and market dynamics.

External Customer: Collaborative Partnerships and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)

  • Support key tactical customer activities and meetings based on brand strategy plans (e.g., advisory board meetings, speakers’ bureaus, KOL development and engagement, segmented customer education/training).
  • Collaborate with US Veterinary Professional Services (VPS) teams to identify new KOLs as well as help support these relationships from the field level.
  • Fulfill identified and delegated liaison relationships with key animal health organizations critical to the product/therapeutic area supported to promote and enhance the image of Zoetis.

Internal Customers: Partnerships and Training/Medical Education

  • Partner with the GMA Medical Education team in the execution of the dermatology medical education strategy, ensuring programming is grounded in sound science and aligned to brand strategy and US/ GMA priorities.
    • Contribute to the design and development of customer-facing education programs, ensuring consistent quality standards are maintained across US and global portfolio areas.
  • Work in coordination with Learning and Development to ensure medical content within field force training programs is accurate, consistent, and aligned to key brand messages and the medical education strategy.
  • Identify needs for new and enhanced medical presentations and support their development in close coordination with the dermatology team and the broader GMA derm portfolio team, leveraging existing expertise and content across US and global teams before engaging external SMEs, to avoid duplication of effort.

Required Education/Experience 

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience which must include companion animals
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the animal health industry, specifically in a medical role. 
  • Special interest in dermatology

Skills and Competencies

Scientific and Medical Expertise

  • Strong veterinary dermatology knowledge; able to evaluate scientific data and apply it to content development and portfolio support.
  • Skilled in medical content creation and review within regulatory and legal requirements.
