Job Description

• Make understanding our customers a constant priority, including activities such as: Design Thinking , Jobs-to-be-done, Use Case and Scenario Analysis, Framing user problems, Facilitate Workshops, Work/Task flow development , High & Low Fidelity Prototyping, Usability Testing 

• Work with Key Stakeholders to critically think through to root cause of problems ensuring a consistent, cohesive user experience for our customers 

• Collaborate with Product Management, UX Leadership and User Analytics to develop informed design decisions for better experience outcomes 

• Proficiency in developing interactive prototypes from ideation and conception to final design solutions 

• Design prototypes for web and mobile applications (Whiteboard/Paper, Low Fidelity Concepts and High Fidelity Interactions) 

• Design, document and maintain branded design patterns to support our design system for re-use across a significantly large platform of Insurance products  

• Organize and manage qualitative Usability Testing activities (writing script, recruiting, facilitating tests) 

• Participate in all scrum ceremonies for assigned product team(s) as well as design/technical meetings 

• Document and review all UX artifacts with key stakeholders to provide insights and gain approvals 

• Assist in mentoring other UX Design Team Members 

• Perform additional UX Duties as required to support the insurance platform of products

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Centered Design, Visual Communications, Graphic Design and/or 5+yrs equivalent UX work experience or similar role (Bachelor's minimum)   

• A strong background in Visual Design, Information Architecture, and Heuristic Evaluation methodologies establishing interactive branded interfaces such as mobile devices, web applications, presentations, and other digital formats 

• Understanding of developing and delivering successful, intuitive, and compelling designs  

• Knowledge of human-centered design principles as well as software development processes (e.g. SAFe Agile)  

• Practices the Design Thinking Framework and it’s use to solve complex problems 

• Provides technical guidance to junior designer/developers and other team members.  

• Good overall oral and written communication skills; must be able to learn to facilitate meetings and workshops, etc.  

• Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.  

• Ability to story tell to Senior Leadership with clear and concise evidence-based research backed by interaction design principles 

• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain mid-level to complex applications.  

• Must have experience using the following design & prototyping software: Figma 

• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.)  

• Axure RP Pro preferred and is a big plus  

• Experience with the following facilitation and collaboration tools: 

• Miro (Virtual Whiteboard) 

• MS Teams, WebEx, Zoom 

• Jira, Confluence (Wiki) 

• Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. 

• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
