Cleerly is creating a new standard of care for heart disease through value-based, AI-driven precision diagnostic solutions with the goal of helping prevent heart attacks. Our technology goes beyond traditional measures of heart disease by enabling comprehensive quantification and characterization of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, in each of the heart arteries. Cleerly’s solutions are supported by more than a decade of performing some of the world’s largest clinical trials to identify important findings beyond symptoms that increase a person’s risk of heart attacks.
About the Opportunity
Cleerly is currently recruiting for the position of Sr. Counsel. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house in the healthcare industry. This role will report to the General Counsel / Chief Compliance Officer
Responsibilities
- Manages legal business matters pertaining to the organization.
- Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients.
- Acts as advisor on legal issues involving the organization’s government and regulatory compliance.
- Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken.
- Coordinates litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel.
- Demonstrates experience in general corporate matters, including corporate organization, compliance, drafting transactional documents, license agreements, research agreements, commercial agreements, employment law, immigration law, data privacy, and contract management.
- Works closely with other departments, including human resources, engineering, IT, procurement, marketing, sales, and finance, providing guidance, advice, and training regarding relevant laws, rules, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Support compliance within the organization to ensure that financial and operational procedures and personal conduct within the organization comply with all relevant and applicable laws, regulations, and contractual agreements.
Skills and Abilities:
- Organizational skills: Prioritize and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving: Recognize problems and devise solutions to conflicts and difficult issues in a professional manner.
- Communication skills: Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Liaise with outside counsel and regulatory authorities.
- Legal research skills: Excellent legal research skills are required.
Requirements
- JD degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school and successful completion of the state bar exam.
- At least 7+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house (healthcare, IT, medical device or closely related industry, preferred).
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships internally and externally to ensure that company objectives are achieved.
- Start-up experience preferred
Salary: $200,000 - $275,000*
*Total Target Compensation (TTC): Total Cash Compensation (including base pay, variable pay, commission, bonuses, etc.)
