PDR - Auto Body Technician / Service Technician with our Autonomous Vehicle Partner in San Francisco

As an Automotive Body Technician, you will handle both major and minor collision damage on autonomous vehicles operated by the AV Driver.   The Technician will have a unique opportunity to provide high quality service on autonomous vehicles, while working with teammates in a positive atmosphere and growth environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high quality work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
• Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
• Communicates with Parts Department to obtain the needed parts
• Perform all body and fender repairs
• Parts replacement of bumpers and doors
• Perform welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing operations
• Examines the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Operating all equipment in the Service Center in a safe and productive manner, following AutoNation’s Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working on the production floor.
• Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner
• Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes
• Collaborating with and working alongside AutoNation associates, and partnering with teammates to improve processes and expedite workflow.
• Keeping abreast of technical information and participating in offered training classes as appropriate.
• Gaining superior product knowledge to provide high quality repairs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• I-CAR / ASE Certifications

• PDR ability a huge plus

• At least five years’ Auto Body / Collision experience
• Automotive technical training
• Electric Vehicle experience, a plus
• Must have tools
• Must have a valid, in-state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Pay Range is $33.00 to $55.00 per hour
