Supervisor, Distribution Center Operations

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Supervisor to oversee key day-to-day operational activities within our distribution center. This role is responsible for allocation management, transfer order completion, and clear/proactive communication with internal stakeholders in Sales and Operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse General Manager to ensure efficient and accurate execution of warehousing processes, contributing to overall operational excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Daily allocation of all work activities within the warehouse with a deep understanding of our business needs and capacities via constant communication with Sales and Operations.
  • Supervise and execute the timely and accurate completion of transfer orders.
  • Serve as a liaison between warehouse operations and internal departments (Sales, Operations, Inventory Control) to ensure clear, timely communication and resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate with customers the scheduling and routing of shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Review and update customer routing guides and compliance requirements 
  • Monitor and maintain daily workflow within the warehouse to meet service level agreements and performance targets.
  • Partner with Warehouse Manager and General Manager to implement continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization strategies.
  • Support inventory accuracy and integrity through diligent coordination and communication during receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
  • Utilize ERP and WMS systems to track, manage, and report on operational metrics and performance.
  • Troubleshoot system/process issues related to inventory transactions, allocations, and transfers.
  • Train, guide, and support warehouse associates in operational processes and technology use.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support and act as a backup to the Warehouse Manager as needed.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and ability to enforce them consistently.
  • Experience working in a high-volume distribution center or e-commerce environment.
  • Familiarity with lean warehousing practices or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams), ERP/WMS systems and inventory tracking tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and train others in system usage (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Manhattan, etc.)
