Student Administrative Support Assistant
Office of University Events
The Office of University Events is seeking a Student Administrative Support Assistant. The successful candidate will represent the office, answer questions, direct phone calls, take messages, make room reservations, support onsite events, and help manage inventory. The position requires working some evenings and weekends, but standard schedule is 4-6 hours per day, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am – 5pm. The position will report to the Executive Director of University Events.
Responsibilities
- Respond to all phone calls, emails and walk-ins for basic room reservations and questions
- Assist setups of events, including confirming layouts, basic setup of audio/visual equipment, etc.
- Assist with basic office functions, such as creating documents, spreadsheets, reports, etc.
- Help organize the storage and offices areas of University Events
- Support the events team in larger events as needed
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- At least 1 year of management experience preferred
- At least 1 year of events or event planning experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have a fulltime status. Bachelors Degree required. This is a part-time hourly position.
