Program Aide – After School Program and Summer Day Camp @ Olathe

<p><span><strong>Job Objective: </strong><span>The Program Aide</span> <span>assists</span> <span>with operating</span> <span>the</span> <span>Corps’</span><span> </span><span>After</span> <span>School Program </span><span>and Summer </span><span>Day Camp Program</span><span>.</span></span></p> <p><span> </span></p> <p><span><strong>Essential Functions: </strong></span></p> <p><span>Program</span> <span>Execution</span></p> <ul> <li><span>Assist with planning, creating and implementing activities</span></li> <li><span>Instruct and participate in program activities</span></li> <li><span><span>Provide</span> <span>youth</span> <span>supervision</span></span></li> <li><span>Maintain and administer program rules and policies</span></li> <li><span>Plan, prepare and serve food and snack</span></li> <li><span>Provide child transportation</span></li> <li><span>Assist with child transportation as second person</span></li> </ul> <p><span> </span></p> <p><span><u><span>Administrative Duties</span></u></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Maintain parent/child relations on a professional level</span></li> <li><span><span>Responsible</span> <span>for</span> <span>client</span> <span>sign</span> <span>in</span> <span>and</span> <span>maintain</span> <span>attendance records</span></span></li> <li><span>May supervise volunteers</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span><u><span>Facilities Responsibilities</span></u></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Maintain building security</span></li> <li><span>Provide general cleaning and maintain appearance of areas used by the program</span></li> <li><span>Change bulletin boards monthly</span></li> <li><span>Report any repairs, maintenance, safety or security needs promptly to supervisor</span></li> <li><span>Inventory and maintain equipment</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong></span></p> <p><span><u>Education:</u> High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in teaching, childhood development, mentoring, recreation and/sports preferred</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><u>Experience:</u> Prior experience working with children in a structured setting</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><u>Certifications/Licenses:</u> In-service training will be required</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><u>Skills/Abilities:</u>  </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Ability to relate to children and exhibit a positive leadership example</span></li> <li><span>Ability to participate in the physical recreation activities</span></li> <li><span>Ability to work independently and on a set schedule</span></li> <li><span>Ability to perform duties reliable and timely</span></li> <li><span>Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Supervisory Responsibility: </strong>Supervise volunteers as directed</span></p> <p><span>  </span></p> <p><span><strong>Physical Requirements: </strong>Include actively participating in activities with children, standing for long periods of time; walking, running, bending, reaching; lifting up to 25 lbs. This position requires a valid driver's license from the state in which the employee resides.
