About the role

Senior Business Analyst – mobile app features

Want to make app features that are used by more than 1 million end-users worldwide?

In Demant we make a life-changing difference for people with hearing loss. Our solutions are some of the bests on the market. We want to continue to improve and innovate the usability of our app. That is where you come in the picture.

First person in this position

We want a single point of contact who can collect all needs and ideas to improve existing and create new innovative features related to the connectivity of our mobile app with hearing aids and other devices.

Existing ideas on our to-do list are e.g. connecting the mobile app and the hearing aids via the new LE Audio Bluetooth protocol, implementing the new cutting-edge Auracast technology and optimizing the speed and stability of streaming audio to the hearing aids.

Your typical stakeholders are Product Owners, Software Developers, Test Developers, Product Designers, Software Architects, as well as representatives of other departments, such as Regulatory/Compliance and Marketing.

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Gain and deepen knowledge of the existing mobile app functionalities to analyze what impact new features will have on them.
  • Facilitate the process of collecting needs from multiple stakeholders from different departments to enable alignment on the desired solution.
  • Support stakeholders in the decision-making.
  • Support Product Owner and other team members in understanding, designing and refining the scope of the feature.
  • Analyze and refine the requirements in collaboration with the agile team and document them according to company standards and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with Test Developers to support the creation of test strategy and ensure testability of requirements.
  • Create and review product/feature documentation relevant in the given case (including diagrams, use cases, decision tables, etc.).
  • Provide support to other teams on connectivity, Bluetooth, and mobile OS compatibility, ensuring alignment and coherence across products.

Nimbus – more than a motorcycle

You will be part of the team responsible for the mobile app features. We are called Nimbus and have chosen that name, as it is cool and resembles a Danish legend.

We consist of 4 Developers, 2 Testers and 1 Scrum Master based in Smørum, and 1 Product Owner and 1 Product Designer based in Warsaw.

Joao Silva, Senior Manager, Software Solutions, is the team manager and is also in Warsaw. Joao Silva is primarily responsible for your personal development. He provides support for the team when needed, facilitates discussions and removes impediments.

Christian Martinussen, Director, Software Solutions, is in Smørum and assists the team on a day-to-day basis.

As a team we are independent, self-organizing and responsible for making technical decisions on our own in alignment with stakeholders.

We work closely together and have a good team spirit. We like to go for coffee breaks and lunch together. When someone has a birthday, cake is mandatory. When meeting our Warsaw colleagues, we like to exchange snacks and jokes. Working together should be fun.

Planned learning and development is a big part of work life in Nimbus. We are encouraged to constantly learn new stuff to expand our knowledge. We attend training and conferences, all to grow in our careers and keep up to date with new technologies and IT-related methods. We collaborate with other software and hardware development teams and form communities within our different job roles.

We work at the office 3 days a week and 2 days remotely, which gives us a lot of freedom and flexibility.

The art of the ART

In Demant we work accordingly to SAFe. Nimbus is part of the Connectivity ART, which contains 11 software teams that together work on the mobile app as well as the hearing aid itself.

The ART was launched in September last year, but we have been using SAFe in Nimbus since June 2022, as we were part of another ART.

The entire Nimbus team participates in the PI plannings every 3rd month in Smørum, with following dinner for the team. Each sprint lasts 2 weeks. We have daily stand-up at 09:15 – either at the office or remotely.

All ART members attend SAFe training and get certified.

Future possibilities

You will become part of a culture with good internal carrier opportunities. Your job can take you in new directions such as Product Owner, Product Manager, Requirements Manager, Architect, etc. depending on your background and interests.
