About the Role:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager works with a team of staff and is responsible for leading their team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior-level Staff and the firm’s Executive Team, CFO and VP of Finance which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $135,000, depending on location.
Compensation ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
What You’ll Do:
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Ensure year end audit is clean and timely.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
- Support the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Responds to inquiries from the CFO, VP of Finance, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
- Collaborates with the finance teams based in the US and in New Zealand to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met as well as support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy as well as assisting in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Support Director of Finance with special projects and workflow process improvements.
What You’ll Bring:
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced work place. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Strong knowledge of federal and state laws required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax law required
- Strong work ethic and confidentiality skills required
