This position will report to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and will be responsible for the following activities:
- Assist with preparation of financial statement analytics and other management reports.
- Prepare lease vs buy analysis and amortization schedules based on ASC 842 lease accounting standard.
- Review the balance of debts and investments calculated in SAP treasury module.
- Prepare/review account reconciliations and assist with resolution of reconciling items.
- Prepare journal entries and related support for routine and non-routine transactions that are material and complex in nature.
- Work with sectors and other Corporate departments, e.g. government accounting, tax, treasury on routine transactions.
- Interact with foreign and shared service accounting staff to ensure appropriate accounting processes are in place.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages for corporate entities.
- Assist with the monthly load and consolidation of corporate domestic and international entities into Hyperion Financial Management.
- Assist with SOX, DCAA and IRS audits.
- Maintain documentation to support statement of work.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Master’s degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Master’s degree and a CPA may be traded for a total of 3 years of experience.
- Public accounting experience, IF directly relevant, may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure
- Public accounting firm experience
- Prior experience with SAP and/or Hyperion Financial Management
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Must be able to function in a dynamic organization, effectively managing competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of ASC842 lease accounting
- Understanding of government contract accounting regulations, cost accounting standards and federal acquisition regulations
