This position is for a mid-level Systems R&D Project Manager on the Molecular Imaging/SPECT New Product Development team. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle to define, develop, and deliver major diagnostic medical imaging equipment and related updates.


You are responsible for:

  • Leading activities to support SPECT projects, service packs, and other sustaining-related special assignments.

  • Guiding project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

  • Leading Project Steering Groups (PSG) or Project Leads Meetings to regularly assess project status and make key decisions aligned with the product roadmap.

  • Supporting planning and estimating of work required to meet product deliverables

  • Aiding in preparing yearly budget estimates for assigned projects.

  • Creating work breakdown structures and schedules using Microsoft Project Planner.

  • Tracking all expenditures and labor used for assigned projects.

  • Providing leadership to the cross-functional team through the Project Steering Group.

  • Creating and maintaining project management plans, PSG minutes/actions, and risk registers for assigned projects.

  • Presenting overall project status in management reviews or team readouts.

  • Leading or supporting the implementation and testing of new project management tools and processes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical, Computer Science

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in new product development and a proven track record of delivering products to market

  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a technical guidance role where project relevant attributes are employed

  • Working knowledge of either software or hardware systems in a highly regulated product field

  • Experience working across multi-functional teams in a collaborative environment

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to confidently represent R&D and their assigned project in various executive forums and reviews

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Understanding agile development methodologies using SAFE agile development process

  • Ability to quickly learn the critical processes of the MI product development lifecycle necessary to deliver a product 

  • Able to prioritize and focus on project deliverables and quality in a rapidly changing competitive environment

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills necessary for timely decision making within the project team.

  • Familiar with Design Controls for the development of medical devices such as 21CFR820, ISO 13485, and

  • ISO 14971

  • Strong quality orientation and customer focus.

  • Master’s degree in engineering or business a plus
