What you will be doing
Under general direction of the VP Strategic Meetings Management, responsible for leading and developing the strategic meetings and events marketing strategy for the US, (with some limited Global responsibility) that will shape the presence of Cencora and all of its US business units in a face-to-face, virtual and hybrid environments.
The role drives the strategic development of Cencora proprietary meetings and establishes a strategic footprint to be used for Cencora presence at external conferences, meetings, trade shows, etc. This position collaborates with divisional marketing leads and business leaders to develop engagement strategies that support enterprise and business unit-specific goals and objectives, retains customers and drive revenues.
- Develop and lead Cencora meetings and events marketing strategy for US Business units, working with corporate and business functions to drive a meaningful and financial impact.
- Develop and manage strategy, plan, budget and team for Cencora proprietary events. Works with the key stakeholders to select external vendors necessary for producing meeting, events and customer experiences.
- Develop meetings and events teams, designing best practices to be implemented in other areas of the organization as well as policies and procedures to ensure brand consistency and operational efficiency.
- Conduct portfolio planning to determine appropriate attendance at industry meetings, conferences and other events and determine new opportunities to introduce Cencora in a face to face in-person environment
- Establish accountability model and ensure consistent adherence to enterprise meetings.
- Educate organization on meetings and events strategy and how it impacts their areas.
- Active integration with Enterprise Marketing Centers of Expertise and business unit leaders to ensure consistent execution of brand and integration of other marketing activities.
- Partners with Corporate Security and Regulatory Affairs for protection of proprietary equipment, information and leadership involved in events.
- Strategically collaborates with key internal customers to realize cross-organizational business objectives and opportunities.
- Partners with the appropriate internal customers, to interface and lead negotiations with internal and external resources for the purpose of site selection, exhibit displays, show management vendors, multimedia capabilities, hotels, airlines, entertainment, food, security, emergency preparedness and specialty vendors.
- Creates and regularly produces performance metrics to assess, communicate and manage the impact and value of investment in meetings and events.
What your background should look like
- Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, hospitality management or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree Program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Requires a minimum of 15years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Technical/Functional
- Strong command of meetings/events planning and hotel/service management
- Financial planning and management of operating budgets
- Exhibits ability to translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies and tactics to drive sales and profitability for the business.
- Strong strategic thinker who demonstrates knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts including ability to translate strategy to implementation.
- Strong as well as creative problem-solving skills; ability to proactively identify and execute effective solutions throughout the planning and execution of meetings/events.
