About the role

Position Summary:   This position is for EPES Transport, LLC., a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The primary purpose of the Regional Manager-Safety Compliance role is to collaborate with operations personnel to integrate Health, Safety and Security (Logistics Safety Compliance) into all activities and decision-making processes in assigned areas.    Scheduled: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PMEST  Travel Requirement: Traveling 50-75%      Responsibilities:   
  • Lead initiatives to prevent vehicle incidents and work-related injuries through proactive safety programs and risk assessments.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of all vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations Leaders to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate safety performance metrics and trends to Operations Leadership, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  •  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety improvement initiatives, focusing on both leading and lagging indicators.
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory updates, offering guidance and support to Operations Leadership to maintain compliance.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of effective safety training programs tailored to operational needs.
  • Manage transportation safety protocols and ensure robust location security measures are in place and maintained.
  •  Other projects and tasks as assigned.  
  Qualifications: 
  • 3 years DOT fleet or general industry safety management experience 
  • HS Diploma / GED required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Independent problem solving skills required 
  • Intermediate computer skills 
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job 
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
