Senior Software Engineer

Team Overview

Our mission is to provide end-to-end observability for cloud and edge, enabling all customers to efficiently operate and provide a high-quality experience with their apps, services, and infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help with our cloud-native observability efforts, with a particular focus on Kubernetes observability. Most new applications, including cutting-edge AI and machine learning workloads, are now developed and run on Kubernetes. Kubernetes and AI workload observability present unique challenges and exciting opportunities. We are dealing with distributed systems, microservices, and ephemeral workloads. We are responsible for building observability services and solutions for monitoring both the application layer (services, APIs, and business logic) and the underlying infrastructure (nodes, pods, networking, storage). Our customers include Microsoft, Fortune 500 companies, and startups. Our aim is to enable autonomous, integrated systems infused with artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to proactively measure, monitor, detect, alert, diagnose, and mitigate health issues before they impact customers. 

We’re a diverse team of solid software engineers dealing with different technologies including Cloud Native tools and Open Source to deliver high-demand functionality to our customers. We are building high scale services for Kubernetes and Virtual machine monitoring, leveraging open-source technologies like Prometheus, eBPF and Open Telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities include architecting, designing, coding and operationalizing observability services at hyper scale
• Produce crisp designs with tradeoffs, present and gather stake holder consensus.
• Guide other engineers by following established design and coding patterns, be the bar riser.
• Drive architecture improvements to reduce operational burden on services and team. Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products at scale.
• Crisply plan and communicate feature delivery schedule, risks.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in designing, developing and shipping software/large scale services.
• Solid technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
• Ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long-term needs is essential
