About the role

Intuit’s Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational transformation. This is not an IT role. This is a finance functional role in the Finance Digital Transformation (FT) team, within the Financial Integrity, Transformation and Governance (FITG) organization. As an individual contributor, this position will interface between technology teams and finance process owners as an expert over monetization systems that include but are not limited to Billing, Revenue, Partnerships, Oracle eBusiness suite and item design systems. 

 

The individual in this role must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Quote to Cash and Revenue accounting processes, strong project management skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exceptional change management skills. This individual must demonstrate good business sense, use data to drive decisions, be an independent thinker, team player and a trusted partner. Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams, communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, skill with quantitative/qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, ability to quickly research, understand and document new processes and requirements are foundational needs for success in this role.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assessing implications to monetization systems to support business initiatives, providing finance requirements, validating solutions, architecting finance processes in support of the solution with rigorous change management and a strong PoV on financial risk. This position is expected to have deep accounting process and domain knowledge, representing an E2E finance point of view with an ability to translate complex accounting requirements into system requirements along with proven engagement on software development lifecycle. The position will require strong cross-functional skills with a point of view that operates at a consistent quality considering existing system architecture and design decisions, existing and future processes and inherent financial risks. 

How you will lead

Deliverables:

Finance Requirements Document – Translate complex accounting guidance and processes into system requirements. Consider end-to-end business processes, transactional flows, associated accounting impacts and required controls. Thought partner with teams to provide clarification on accounting implications and process impact, but with a system/automation perspective. Attend requirements gathering sessions, draft and deliver complete and accurate finance requirements documents, signed off by process owners being represented.

 

Solution Review and Signoff – Provide point of view on solution leveraging end to end knowledge of accounting processes and controls. Provide transparency on significant design decisions and process changes to finance stakeholders with point of view on risk, resource and financial impacts. Validate solution for financial implications while providing point of view on system design, gaps and deferrals with inputs on prioritization and manual workarounds.

 

Testing - Align on testing approach and scenarios with tech teams, a view towards financial risks mitigation and testing the solution for finance requirements. Validate testing evidence for accuracy of accounting results, as needed. Lead User Acceptance Testing coordination with process owners.

 

Change management - drive overall change management, communication and training to accounting process owners throughout the software lifecycle development process; goal is ‘no surprises’ for our stakeholders. Final deliverable being process hand off document to manage knowledge transfer to process owners. 

 

Release/ Issues Management – Have a risk based review of monthly system releases, identify system issues with a point of view on financial risk and manage prioritization of backlog items and defects for resolution.


Qualifications

·        Bachelors degree in Accounting with minimum of 5-7 years of functional finance/business systems experience
