Job Overview

Plan and manage the banquet kitchen staff in the procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food for the banquet department in a safe, sanitary work environment which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive, quality products.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for long a short term planning and day-to-day operations of the banquet kitchen and related areas.  Menu concepts and creation, procedural changes, managing the budget and food and labor costs withing the approved budget constraints; managing associates and the kitchen in order attract, retain, and motivate the employees while providing a safe environment; hiring, training, developing, empowering, coaching, conducting performance and salary reviews, are part of the larger overall arching responsibilities for the Banquet Chef role.

Qualifications

One or two years of post-high school education.  Qualifed candidate must have culinary banquet experience in the hotel industry up to two (2) years; experience in creating menu items and costing.
