Summary:

The Shift Nurse Supervisor is responsible for administration and operational activities on weekends, evening and night shifts. The supervisor serves as a clinical resource to direct care staff. Assumes responsibility and authority as delegated by the Chief Nurse Officer/Sr. Chief Nurse Officer.  Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, Bachelors degree in nursing business or health-related field preferred or actively pursuing degree.

  • Experience: Five years of acute care nursing experience preferred.  Previous supervisory or management experience desired.

  • Knowledge and Abilities:  Interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership.  Effective problem resolution capabilities; able to be decisive and deal equitable in all situations.  Able to make effective use of resources.

  • Registration, Certification or Licensure Requirement: Current Ohio RN Licensure; Basic Life Support Certification..

  • Sets and meets deadlines, prioritizes work and works independently

  • Identifies and understands issues and problems

  • Examines data and draws logical conclusions demonstrating the ability to apply high levels of critical thinking and understanding

  • Makes decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside immediate work unit

  • Organize thoughts and ideas into understand terminology

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change
