About the role

JOB SUMMARY

This position leads the combined Network and Cybersecurity Engineering teams and serves as both a hands-on senior engineer and working manager. The role is responsible for providing day-to-day technical and operational leadership while remaining directly involved in complex engineering work across enterprise networking and cybersecurity domains.

The Manager of Network & Cybersecurity Engineering is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and continual improvement of the organization’s enterprise network and cybersecurity platforms. This includes technical leadership for network infrastructure, perimeter security, network security, endpoint security, application security, data security, threat prevention, security monitoring, and incident response.

This role functions as the organization’s lead network engineer and primary cybersecurity engineering leader. The position is expected to establish technical standards, guide platform strategy, oversee engineering and operational readiness, support incident response efforts, evaluate new technologies, assist with budgeting and lifecycle planning, and ensure alignment between infrastructure, security, and organizational goals.

While the role includes supervisory responsibilities, it is intentionally structured to remain highly hands-on, particularly as the network and cybersecurity teams continue to integrate and mature.

Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 annually

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and mentorship to network and cybersecurity engineers.
  • Supervise team member performance, development, skill progression, and work prioritization.
  • Support staffing, recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning efforts.
  • Build and maintain a unified culture across the combined network and cybersecurity teams.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, operational directors, business stakeholders, and project teams to align priorities and resources.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex network and cybersecurity issues.

 

Hands-On Engineering Responsibilities

  • Function as the organization’s lead engineer for enterprise network infrastructure and related security technologies.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain Cisco switches, routers, wireless, VPN, and related network technologies.
  • Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and support Check Point firewalls and related perimeter security platforms.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts involving infrastructure, connectivity, segmentation, firewall policy, secure remote access, and security enforcement layers.
  • Perform and support upgrades, migrations, lifecycle replacements, patching, and performance optimization across network and security platforms.
  • Maintain direct involvement in technical design
