Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to join our team to support scheduling as a project controls function on a large-scale project. The ideal individual will have a proven track record of successfully delivering construction project control services.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Associate Director - MEP Estimating to lead estimating services for some of our key projects and clients. The ideal individual will have great communication skills and have relevant experience.

Responsibilities:   

  • Lead a team of estimators, providing cost consultancy services for construction projects. 

  • Implement best practice estimating processes and methodologies, incorporating industry-specific best practices and leveraging innovative techniques for improved efficiency. 

  • Specialize in conceptual estimating within the estimating domain, offering expert guidance and support to team members. 

  • Mentor and coach estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.  

  • Provide reporting on key-performance-indicators to assess the performance of the organization and the team against a set of metrics determined by industry standards. 

  • Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis and present formal estimating reports for project estimates including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications to project stakeholders. 

  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts. 

  • Develop White Paper market reports for construction cost management. 

  • Manage internal systems for purchase orders, invoicing, and risk management. 

  • Build business capability by anticipating future challenges and opportunities for clients, and implementing new estimating services that align with changes to the best standards held within the industry. 

  • Create business opportunities through business development, key client development, and opportunity tracking within the region utilizing local knowledge and expertise of estimating needs, clients, and development. 

  • Lead the effort to win new work by leading bids for estimating scopes of work, presenting to potential clients, and sharing best practice to foster a learning environment 

  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.    

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.  
  • Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering is preferred.  

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working in an estimating role in the construction industry.  

  • Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.  

  • Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.  

  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.
