Responsibilities Shamrock is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join the Application Development team. The primary objective of this role is to support and extend Shamrock technology solutions related to third party applications and transportation development projects. This role will be expected to work with both our Shamrock business unit leadership as well as the Shamrock IT team. The role will create/contribute to business case development, requirements articulation, project/program planning, testing, training and ultimately helping to deliver technology solutions that support the growth of Shamrock.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues to determine root cause of problems or malfunctions.
- Resolve user issues by reviewing application logs, recreating user errors and testing changes.
- Work with our development and systems group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
- Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions
- Define project requirements by identifying project timelines, phases and elements, determining scope, and establishing project expenses
- Differentiate user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Work with business owners to convert high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and prioritize requirements.
- Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools and manage system enhancement requests
- Implement appropriate mitigation strategies that may involve compromises with respect to scope and schedule
- Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provide assistance to sales and customer-facing staff through training, joint sales calls/visits to key accounts
- Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills
- Well organized, analytical, innovative and able to problem solve
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Willingness to engage with customers and perform research into their needs
- Well versed in IT technologies and best practices
- Ability to lead and work with teams, be part of a team, and understand team dynamics
- Diverse business knowledge and the ability to illustrate the linkage between projects and desired business results
- Well organized with strong detail orientatio
