Job Description

• You participate in current research topics:
  • Evaluation and optimisation of molecular diagnostic and microfluidic assay procedures of the Vivalytic Lab-on-Chip platform,
  • Planning, experimental implementation and analysis of sample preparation for next-generation sequencing experiments (e.g. incorporation of chemically-modified nucleotides),
  • Planning, experimental implementation and analysis of nucleic acid amplification experiments (e.g. strand displacement amplification, isothermal amplification, PCR, RT-qPCR),
  • Cultivation and characterisation of various cell and bacterial cultures (e.g. using bioreactors and/or lab-on-chip functional models).
• You take responsibility: Support in the operational healthcare laboratory organisation (e.g. sequencing and cell culture laboratory).
• You experience interdisciplinary cooperation: Work in an agile and diverse research team with exchange across several projects.

Qualifications

• Education: studies in the field of technical biology e.g. bioengineering, biotechnology, biosystems engineering or comparable.
• Experience and Knowledge: extensive knowledge and practical experience in cell and molecular biology method spectrum, experience in the technical implementation of biological processes - ideally with bioreactors and/or lab-on-chip systems.
• Personality and Working Practice: positive team player with strong communication skills, analytical, independent, structured, committed, creative and innovative with hands-on mentality.
• Enthusiasm: enjoyment of interdisciplinary, scientific work, creative and innovative approach to complex tasks and their implementation in practice.
• Languages: very good in German and English.
