Corporate Communications Intern

This role is a paid internship that is part of Heaven Hill's Summer Internship Program (May-August). The role is an office / hybrid position, with the ideal candidate located in the Greater Louisville area.

What the Role Is

We are looking for an intern to join our Corporate Communications team. The Communications team supports the company, brand teams, employees and external partners by providing timely communications on brand programs, business updates and policies, community events, etc. As a summer intern, you will support general public relations and community relations work such as compiling media lists, writing press releases, and coordinating employee engagement opportunities with community partners. You will also support internal communications with corporate program launces, initiatives and employee engagement opportunities.

As part of the Heaven Hill Summer Internship Program, you will directly support the organizations strategic goals through project work and business-critical assignments. The summer experience consists of networking, intern development sessions & workshops, tours of Heaven Hill facilities, social events and more!

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Plan and execute local public relations efforts, including event management, coordinating media opportunities, and serve as company spokesperson when needed
• Write, distribute, and manage follow-up for branded press releases
  
• Maintenance of communications files, media lists, databases and materials
  
• Assist with strategy and coordination for corporate communications programs
• Market to internal audiences by drafting Sales Connections, Organizational Announcements, and New from the Hill communications using the existing corporate communications templates.
• Assist with the distribution and implementation of internal-facing news and communication roll-out plans.

Who You Are…

• Currently pursuing a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related degree
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
  
• Ability to handle multiple tasks on deadline
  
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment
  

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
