Under the direction of the Practice Manager and with minimal supervision, performs exams in the department and assists with daily patient care and office processes.

The Radiology Tech/Medical Assistant assists the staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems.  Performs radiographic exams as required with general equipment.  The MA/RT functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with training and demonstrated competencies

• Performs all radiographic exams as required.
• Maintains appropriate and efficient patient flow through exam and treatment areas.
• Assists physicians, ARNPs, and nurses with patient care, exams, tests, and procedures as designated.
• Accurately obtains and records vital signs, reporting abnormal readings as appropriate.
• Performs clerical duties as assigned including assembling information for patient education, assisting patients with nutrition and toileting as needed, scheduling, and obtaining insurance authorizations for medications.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

• Basic Medical Assistant experience or training
• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
• BLS certification required.
• Medical Assistant training preferred.
• Active AART and KBMIRT
