AVP Technical Director Property

Zurich is seeking an individual to be the Property Technical/Thought Lead for Zurich Resilience Solutions. This role can be located anywhere in the U.S. and will have estimated 20% travel. In this role you will provide guidance and consulting to customers, underwriting, and colleagues on a local and international level.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Research emerging property fire risk issues to identify their potential impact, determine mitigation strategies and communicate this information in a consumable manner to end users.
- Develop technical standards for the Property Fire line of business with corresponding guidance to the staff, complete with technical materials and products that support assessments, service, and mitigation of loss sources.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, support delivery of training to staff, customers, and underwriting, and drive quality through calibration efforts and quality reviews.

This role will be filled at either the AVP or VP level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Qualifications for this role are as follows:
AVP Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area
OR - Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area
AND - Knowledge of exposures, controls and best practice risk improvement
OR
VP Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience with at least 3 years in a technical advisory role
- College degree in Engineering or Science
- Examples of ability to research complex technical issues
- Proven ability/examples of technical writing
- Advanced skills and experience in all aspects of consulting and partnering with business leaders
- Proven ability/examples of presentation development and communication at the individual to large audience level
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
- Able to differentiate risk and establish strategic project priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Risk Engineering methodologies and insurance industry

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The combined salary range for this position is $113,100.00 - $213,000.00. The proposed salary range for the AVP is $113,100.00 - $185,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%. The proposed salary range for the VP is $130,000.00 - $213,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 25%.
