The Role at a Glance
As an AVP, Human Resources Business Partner you will serves as an HR partner to Lincoln Financial Distributors (LFD), the wholesale distribution organization of Lincoln Financial which provides innovative retirement, annuity, life and long-term care solutions to financial professionals, agents, customers and strategic partners.
What you'll be doing
- Acts as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to sales and distribution leaders, delivering HR solutions that enhance sales effectiveness, leadership capability and team performance.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with COE’s – Marketing, Training, , Relationship Management, Competitive Market Services, Finance, and Strategic Planning Office to design and deliver integrated HR and business initiatives that support targeted talent acquisition, succession planning, go-to-market strategies and long-term growth initiatives aligned with LFDs sales and distribution goals.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior leaders t to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
- Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides strategic direction to build and enhance the capability for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
- 8-10+ Years of progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources.
Nice-to-haves:
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and business plans to deliver and exceed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Evaluate trends in data or information.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
- Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
- Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
