Position Description: 

The Automotive Technician performs most tasks assigned with some supervision required. Requires average mechanical knowledge Schumacher Automotive is currently looking for an Automotive Technician with at least 1 year of experience working in a automotive dealership.  We are seeking BOTH Express Lube Tech's and Experienced Technicians to join our fast growing industry. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles
• Completes preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing, replacing filters, etc.
• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

All applicants must pass pre-employment testing to qualify for employment. Pre-Employment testing includes a successful background check and drug testing.
