Automation Systems Engineer II – Infrastructure Cloud Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer II to join our Infrastructure Cloud Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in delivering enterprise‑wide automation solutions across both on‑premises and cloud environments, with a strong focus on AI‑assisted development.
The Automation Systems Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing automation software and scripts that streamline operational workflows across the enterprise. The engineer will independently lead monitoring integrations, build custom internal tools, and develop user‑facing automation solutions. The role also includes resolving production issues, handling escalated support inquiries, collaborating with engineering teams and end users, and generating high‑quality technical documentation.
A key performance expectation is the effective use of AI‑assisted development tools, particularly GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, to accelerate development cycles, improve accuracy, and enhance documentation quality.
Engineers in this role are required to use AI‑assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to generate or assist with at least 35% of all code.
Key Responsibilities- Develop automation software and monitoring scripts.
- Build internal tools and user‑facing workflow enhancements.
- Use AI‑assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to generate or assist with at least 35% of all code.
- Investigate and resolve production issues.
- Respond to escalated customer support inquiries.
- Conduct GitHub pull request code reviews to ensure coding best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine technical requirements.
- Design, test, deploy, and optimize automation solutions.
- Manage tasks, milestones, and deliverables
Education, Training & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Development‑related certifications from Microsoft, Python Institute, or equivalent are preferred.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Expertise with PowerShell, Python, C#, and Golang
- 3 plus years of relevant (to the job description) Automation experience
- Experience working with cloud service platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Visual Studio, and REST API best practices.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems.
- Knowledge of information security and secure coding practices.
- Ability to lead technical discovery efforts and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare or hospital environment is preferred.
Skills & Technical Abilities
- Programming Languages: C#, Golang, PowerShell, and Python.
- AI Tools – GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Tools & Platforms: Android, iOS, Citrix, Epic Hyperspace, Imprivata, ServiceNow, SCCM, Active Directory, Cisco IOS.
- Operating Systems: Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5.
