Compensation: $105,000 - $185,000 / year
Description
As an Automation & Controls Engineer at Impulse, you will be responsible for the design and commissioning of industrial machinery and systems for R&D, test, and production while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team.ÂResponsibilities
- Own all aspects of equipment design from concept, requirements, and commissioningÂ
- Generate necessary schematics and for electrical and fluid systems in EPlan to required standardsÂ
- Write and debug software for PLCs in TwinCAT that is maintainable and scalableÂ
- Programming of various industrial controls hardware (VFDs, motor starters, PLCs, etc.)Â
- Selecting of application specific hardware (circuit protection, VFDs, motion systems, robots, etc.)Â
- Development of HMIs that are easy to use, functional, and can be used for diagnostics & troubleshootingÂ
- Work with end users for end users to ensure equipment meets design intentÂ
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering fieldÂ
- 2+ years of work in a relevant field (manufacturing/test/R&D)Â
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity of PLC systemsÂ
- Object oriented programming in structured text per IEC 61131-3Â
- Industrial SafetyÂ
- Schematic design with EPlanÂ
- 3D Control panel design with EPlan ProPanelÂ
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systemsÂ
- Understanding of ISO 13849, ANSI B11, or IEC 61508 safety standardsÂ
- Knowledge of UL508A, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 standardsÂ
- Familiarity with industrial protocols such as EtherCAT, Profinet, IO-Link, etc.Â
- Work with external vendors and manufacturers for sourcing hardware and solutionsÂ
- Experience with hazard risk assessments and mitigation plansÂ
- Flexible schedule and willing to travel as neededÂ
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
