Description
Lafayette College seeks a service- and communication-oriented Audiovisual (AV) Solutions Strategist to join its Learning and Research Technologies team within Information Technology Services (ITS). As part of Information Technology Services, the team looks for ways to leverage technology to support the mission of Lafayette College, a private, residential liberal arts college. The AV Solutions Strategist will oversee and maintain classroom and meeting space AV systems, design new AV systems in collaboration with stakeholders, manage AV projects, and provide technical consultations. Along with the AV Systems Specialist, provide end-user support, and ensure optimal AV functionality across campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities are as follows, though not necessarily inclusive:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement AV infrastructure strategy aligned with institutional goals. Research and evaluate emerging technologies.
- System Design and Implementation: Design AV systems for new and existing spaces, coordinating installations with integrators.
- Maintenance and Support: Ensure reliable AV operation through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
- Project Management: Manage AV system updates and installations, including budget forecasting.
- Training and Documentation: Provide training and offer level-two support. Maintain accurate records and support documentation. Ensure design, implementation, and usability standards are maintained across AV systems.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Consult with campus stakeholders, vendors, and instructional technologists to meet technology needs.
Qualifications

- Ability to communicate and collaborate with architects, construction managers, internal and external project managers.
- Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical people.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years managing enterprise-level AV infrastructure, preferably in higher education.
- Extensive knowledge of AV systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of IP networking and intersection of AV/IT technologies
- Industry certifications preferable (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I).
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required for emergency responses or maintenance.
- Knowledge of, and desire to learn more about, the potential of technology in a higher education setting.
- Ability to provide community members thorough and personal support.
