Audiology Intern - FlexStaff

As part of an accredited and approved audiology doctorate program, participates collaboratively and under supervision in various hearing aid dispensary activities. Assists in administering a variety of audiological tests to evaluate, diagnose and treat hearing disorders.
  Responsibilities: 

• Performs minor repairs to amplification devices during dispensary walk in hours
• Takes ear mold impressions, dispenses ear molds, programs and dispenses hearing aids and assistive listening devices
• Provides hearing aid and assistive listening device assistance and education to outpatients
• Replenishes hearing aid related inventory/stock items as required; conducts inventory checks
• Verifies invoices against shipments received; stores product in appropriate locations
• Assists in administering a variety of audiological tests to evaluate, diagnose and treat hearing disorders
• Maintains control records of invoices, products and items shipped
• Updates manufacturers’ software, as needed
• Assists with monthly dispensary room reviews; assures each room is stocked with appropriate supplies and patient literature

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor Degree, required or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Enrollment in an Audiology Doctoral program, required
• Current NYS Hearing Aid Dispensing Trainee License (TCHD) or Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser (AUDD), required.
