This role is responsible for leading the design, execution, and optimisation of NAB Assist’s collections strategy and decision analytics across Retail and Business products. It is a techno‑functional position that involves developing and delivering risk scoring models, treatment strategies, and collection processes, while also driving portfolio monitoring for delinquent loans and supporting key initiatives to effectively manage portfolio performance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Act as the SME for collections strategy, decisioning practices, and existing processes across the NAB Assist portfolio.

• Lead the design, execution, and optimisation of collections strategies for retail and business lending products.

• Oversee portfolio analysis and monitoring to identify risks, trends, and uplift opportunities.

• Drive champion–challenger testing, assess outcomes, and ensure continuous improvement in strategy effectiveness.

• Guide and mentor analysts, providing support on data models, KPI logic, and analytical best practices.

• Onboard, coach, and develop new team members to strengthen capability and ensure smooth BAU transitions.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate strategies with modern data platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and automation.

• Ensure all strategies and customer contact practices meet NCC, Debt Collection Guidelines, and Banking Code of Practice requirements.

• Prepare insights and performance content to support NAB Assist leaders in stakeholder discussions and governance forums.

• Contribute to building a global Centre of Excellence by driving consistency, scalability, and best‑practice adoption across regions

Overall Requirement:

• Strong experience of 9+ years which includes experience in delivering and optimising credit risk and collections strategies.

• Hands‑on exposure to portfolio monitoring and insight generation.

• Proven project management skills and ability to lead end‑to‑end initiatives.

• Experience leading or mentoring analysts.

• Ability to use analytics to shape and validate strategic decisions.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Experience with modern data platforms and automated decisioning is a plus.

• Background in Banking, Finance, Collections, or Strategy/Decisioning is highly regarded (tertiary qualification optional).
