We currently looking for an Associate Underwriter in our Broomfield, Colorado office.

What can you expect?

• In the first 60 days you can expect to participate in a robust training program of on the job and computer-based training.
• You will be joining a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable individuals.
• Triage and prepare new business accounts for Underwriters.
• Underwrite and price new and renewal business under guidance from an Underwriter.
• Support growing producer relationships within assigned region.
• Provide ongoing customer service and problem solving to producer offices.

We will count on you to:

• Support the team’s goals for production by quoting renewals and triaging new business accounts.
• Underwrite and price accounts in accordance with ICAT’s underwriting standards.
• Demonstrate a proficient understanding of ICAT’s forms, endorsements, and rating methodology.
• Support the team during peak times through policy issuance, endorsement processing, and reviewing and approving inspection findings and recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with producer offices.

What you need to have:

• 1+ years of underwriting support experience within commercial property or personal lines insurance or financial services industries
• Analytical aptitude; critical thinking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

What makes you stand out?

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of progressive underwriting support experience within commercial property
• Knowledge of commercial property forms, pricing and rating methodology, modeling, and valuation tools.
• Time management skills along with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members.
• Professional presence.
