About the role

The Associate Territory Manager is responsible for learning the Territory Manager role and gaining knowledge of Worthington Steel sales proposition. This program is an intensive hands-on and interactive experience that will prepare individuals for a successful career with Worthington Industries. This career path requires an outgoing and assertive personality with good communication skills. **The Associate Territory Managers will be in a developmental and training program for 6-12 months prior to being eligible for a promotion to a Territory Manager position. The role will require relocation following the completion of the training program.  This may involve relocation to MS, IN, KY, KS or Missouri.  

Responsibilities

  • Gain foundational knowledge and experience required to be a Territory Manager (TM) by going through a cross functional training program.
    • Introduction & interaction with all functions of the business that directly or indirectly touch customer orders. 
  • Participants will be required to be active participants in critical areas of the business, including:
    • Inside Sales - account ownership will ensure engagement with current business environment
    • Pricing - develop understanding of TM interaction with the internal team in the quote process
  • Effectively communicate at all levels- one on one, presentations, meeting facilitation, internal communication process, customer presentations, etc.
  • Gain knowledge of selling Worthington Steel and our value proposition 
  • Learn and participate in all TM activities (strategic planning, forecasting, resource coordination, reports, etc.)
    • Travel will be required to shadow existing TMs
  • Learn all account or sales administration responsibilities (reports, launch process, reporting, trend analysis, etc.)
  • Assist in researching and identifying potential customers
  • Remain current on all relevant product, technology, customer and industry knowledge and trends
  • Understand and effectively practice all internal processes
