Associate Technician, Data Center Operations

This position is responsible for media handling, print operations, system monitoring (exception and task based), and documentation/escalation of exceptions in accordance with defined procedures. This position will focus on delivery of defect free deliverables and providing the highest quality customer service

Shift work will be required to support the position as the Data Center is a 24x7 operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor system consoles for system messages, alerts, job abends and outstanding write to Operator messages.
• Identify efficiency opportunities and assist in implementation of continuous improvement recommendations
• Participate in planning and executing a training plan to learn and master Data Center responsibilities related to the COM2 functional area: tape, print and tape library.
• Execute tape, print and library tasks that include printing of reports and deliverables, mounting of tapes, monitoring backups, media creation, processing incoming and outgoing tape library deliveries; other duties as assigned.
• Participate constructively in meetings and maintain a timely and accurate timesheet.

Required Experience

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11
• Ambition to grow in an IT Team environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to coordinate escalation of  issues.  

Desired 

• Experience with zSeries Operations, iSeries Operations, TSO/SDSF, ROBOT, TWS, HP/Tandem, Heat, HP Service Manager, SecureSync, and enabling/disabling Halon and/or FM200.

Education

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $28.46

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
