Job Description
Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) is seeking a talented and highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our Pre-Pivotal Biologics Analytical Development group. Our collaborative and interdisciplinary development team utilizes state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies to advance medicines into the clinic. Responsibilities:
Execute and support development of analytical methods (ELISA and qPCR) to be used for release testing and characterization.
Acquire and interpret data for molecule characterization and process development studies.
Contribute to authoring associated method development reports, test procedures, and relevant method transfer documents.
Assist in troubleshooting method related issues, improve and optimize as needed.
Maintain good documentation practices for recording experimental plans and results in electronic laboratory notebook and associated reports.
Able to work well independently and in a team setting on assigned tasks, such as method development and testing.
Participate in group meetings, present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
Work in collaboration with more senior scientists to design experiments and advance state-of-the art techniques
Basic Qualifications:
BS with 4+ years of experience OR M.S. with 2+ years in Analytical Chemistry or related fields of industrial experience in biologics analytical development.
Experience with analytical method development of biologic products (e.g. potency and/or process related impurities including host cell protein, host cell DNA, and affinity resin materials).
Hands on experience with or interest/aptitude to learn HPLC, MS, and Capillary Electrophoresis and other separation methods for protein analysis is a plus
Familiar with lab automation, data science and knowledge management is a plus.
