Pantheon & Schocken Books is seeking an Associate Publicist to execute independent publicity campaigns for a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novel titles. This position will work on several titles at a time each season.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Securing national and regional media for both hardcover and paperback titles, including television, radio, podcasts, and online media
- Independently planning and executing author tours, including local book events, media interviews, and author travel & lodging
- Accompanying authors to local NYC-based interviews and bookselling events
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with producers, editors, book reviewers, event coordinators, and booksellers
- Communicating and building partnerships with authors and agents
- Creating persuasive press materials, including press releases, pitch letters, media pitch lists, author Q&A’s, and story ideas
- Collaborating with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams on publicity campaign execution

Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Must be a creative and strategic thinker

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The salary for this position is $53,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
