Position Overview

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Operations Leader! This position will be responsible for providing production support and being an active leader to the process centers in a manufacturing unit at an aluminum plant. This position works closely with various line and staff personnel at all levels of the organization. It provides guidance for continuous improvement projects, trouble shooting of various manufacturing operations, maintenance diagnostic work, developing standard operating procedures, employee training and assessment, quality issue resolution, and employee engagement.

• Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
• Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software programs quickly
• Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Candidates who are enrolled in a degree program, but have not yet completed their degree will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing people in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Excellent communication skills as well as being able to work effectively with all levels of the organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a Technical field is preferred

This role’s salary starts from $76,000 per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan (Annual Incentive Plan - AIP or Plant Performance incentive - PPI).

Novelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1200 people. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets.
