Job Description

The Associate Manager, Technical Engineering is responsible for the technical planning and preparedness of Field Service and TAC roles. The role shall receive new and/or changing servicing and support requirements, develop costing analysis, create additional control documents design, coordinate training and issue and manage all required tooling. National technical campaign efforts such as CAPAs and NCRs are developed, launched and managed via this role.  This role is also responsible for field service compliance in regard to discounts and invoicing accuracy. In this role you will report to the Director of Service Planning and will work closely with peers from the Field Service, TAC, Training, Product Marketing and Engineering teams.

Job Duties

  • Lead the service planning efforts by the Technical Service Center staff to adequately prepare for new product introductions, CAPAs and general servicing instructions for all supported products. 
  • Collaborate with Market Quality, Product Marketing and Engineering to provide and exchange information for FST in regard to CAPA completion and technical product initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of Service Delivery NCR and CAPA activities so that timely and effective closures occur.
  • Manage all aspects of issued assets for FST personnel (tools, jibs, PPE, etc.) including procurement issuance, calibration tracking and database maintenance.  
  • Audit, analyze and manage all financial compliance pertaining to Field Service and TAC.  
  • Manage all billing structures and monitor repair/service invoicing which includes warranty, discounts entitlement accuracy and exception processing. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management. 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field, or equivalent knowledge / experience is required.
  • Strong operational background and the demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 13485 and HIPAA for medical devices.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a field service, customer service or service operations role (medical experience preferred).

 

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform as both an individual contributor and leader of a team.
  • Strong project management skills, Six Sigma and/or Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project).
  • High degree of personal organization, time management skills, and strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Experience in field service and sales support.
  • Ability to interact effectively with sales, field personnel and all levels of management.
  • Individual must have demonstrated ability to work well under pressure. 
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
