Associate Manager, Engineering

Job Summary

The Red Hat Core Platforms Management team is looking for an Associate Manager in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading a globally distributed team of engineers working on the Discovery tool. You will collaborate with technical leaders to deliver quality products and ensure a cohesive product suite across the Subscription and Spend organization.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, coach, and grow a motivated and engaged globally distributed team of engineers (5-10 associates)

• Work with product management to develop technology roadmaps and schedules and communicate these schedules to external stakeholders

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software development, documentation, and support to coordinate tasks necessary for releasing and maintaining enterprise quality software

• Encourage associates to participate in open source communities and contribute to varied software projects

• Organize and prioritize tasks for yourself and your team to meet the needs of stakeholders

• Promote team culture with an emphasis on security, quality, and engineering agility

• Serve as an escalation point for issues, providing guidance and removing obstacles for the team

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in software development 

• Ability to work Hybrid 3+ days in Raleigh NC.

• Demonstrated experience in a people management or team lead role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members in a timely manner

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban

• Familiarity with software quality concepts (e.g., functional testing, unit testing, integration testing)

• Ability to network and establish solid working relationships with your peers and colleagues

• Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) is a plus

• Experience in a people management role working with geographically distributed teams is a plus

• Experience with Jira is a plus

The salary range for this position is $131,420.00 - $216,870.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
