We’re looking for an Associate General Counsel, Product (U.S. Remote) to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide legal support for the full product life cycle as we rapidly diversify our offerings and user base. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, copywriters, and other stakeholders across the company to help identify and manage a wide range of legal issues, including consumer protection, privacy, data security, intellectual property, and contracts related to product, including licensing. As a key member of our growing legal team, you will help develop processes for risk mitigation and legal strategy that align with our unique company culture and commitment to quality.

What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo

• 10+ years of related experience, including at least 3 years in-house. Product counseling experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to translate legal advice into practical, actionable guidance for non-lawyers.
• Demonstrated ability to self-direct and to collaborate effectively on a team of peers.
• Experience working on a distributed team and working in the open preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrated interest in Internet and technology law.
• Must be licensed to practice law in a U.S. state.
• Resident in the U.S.
• Must have excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, innovative, rapidly changing environment.
