Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Marshall, MN is currently seeking applicants for an Associate Engineer. Responsible for providing support to our manufacturing teams as they work to build our products. This role works to engineer products from start to finish, working with both customers and production teams along the way in order to provide world-class products. This role will primarily have Design responsibilities.
Job Location:
Located in Marshall, MN just north of SMSU and located in the industrial park.
NOTE: This engineer will be located in the Marshall, MN facility, and while the majority of design work they perform will likely be developed/produced in Marshall, they will also be responsible for designing products made at other locations in North America.
Essential Duties
• Develop magnetics designs (custom transformers, inductors, and coils) primarily for use in switch-mode power supplies.
• Engineering collaboration with leaders in the medical, aerospace, military, industrial and automotive industries to design and develop custom magnetic components.
• Providing technical leadership in the areas of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and safety agency requirements to ensure that quality, high reliability magnetics components are built and shipped to our customers.
• Participation in design reviews including leading the DFMEA process.
• Coordination of prototype builds and design verification including planning, developing, and implementing experimental test plans and evaluating engineering test results.
Qualifications
• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree
• Work or school experience in the area of transformer and inductor design and/or switch-mode power supply design preferred
• Experience using electrical test equipment (impedance analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills essential
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software preferred
• Experience with finite element analysis software (Ansys or others) a plus
• Experience with PCB design software (Altium or others) a plus
• The ability to travel is required (up to 10% - 15%)
Pay Range:
$60,000-65,000 annually. This position is a full-time position.
