Job Summary

We Strive to Drive Power Innovation Through Data

The nature of the grid is in flux. We on the Strategic Initiatives - Operations Analytics team see this challenge and aim to rise to the occasion. Our team mandate is to bridge the gap between real-world system data and provide consumable business intelligence to help steer the future of how we monitor and manage the grid. Our fast-growing team is responsible for the capture, curation, utilization, and application of time-series data, including SCADA and Synchrophasors. Our work is to steward this data and ensure its analysis and outputs provide our business and the industry with the ability to adapt and meet the demands of a shifting energy landscape. We seek the curious and creative, the self-motivated, and those driven by the pursuit of driving change.

We Seek Joint Expertise in Power Systems & Data Storytelling

Our team is seeking an engineer with a background in power systems and data engineering technology and development to help further our business’ power system analytic capabilities. An ideal candidate is driven by the pursuit of excellence – this is not a job for wrench-turning, but rather for those compelled to identify problems and solve them with critical thinking abilities and working with a multi-faceted team. Candidates must bring the ability to identify gaps in knowledge and organizational capability and pinpoint uses for data and storytelling techniques to ensure we serve the business with improved data-decision making technology. A successful candidate will focus on:

  • Forging new relationships across the organization in search of applicable use cases and opportunities to use time series data as a backbone for analysis and decision-making and guiding/building out solutions.
  • Ongoing account management – working with existing partners to meet established project requirements and ensure any analytic/application outputs meet the stated objective of customer established requirements.
  • Ensuring uptime and proper operation of our PI system resources to ensure current and future state operations of PI are nominally operational for the organization.
  • Continuous learning: whether it’s new technologies or growth in our company’s vertical, our most successful team members are those who have an intrinsic desire to learn and improve.
  • Exploring new techniques and PI features to model time-series and asset data. Whether leveraging native PI capabilities, or utilizing SDK and API capabilities to establish data services and create improved capabilities outside.

Must be able to meet NERC qualifications.

Relocation assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.

Sponsorship assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined.
