About the role

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing to join our Strategic Vendor

Solutions team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing

vendor relationships, driving supply chain resiliency, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality products and

services at competitive prices. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a thorough

understanding of supply chain management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to meet the company’s procurement needs.
  • Lead and manage the sourcing process, including RFPs, RFQs, and like processes to identify and evaluate potential vendors, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and other requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and to scale processes.
  • Leverage data to build dashboards that drive vendor accountability and performance.
  • Manage vendor performance through regular reviews and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Mentor and train less experienced SVS employees.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Focus on building relationships both internally and externally that go beyond transactional interactions to create collaborative environments that foster mutual growth and learning.
  • Comfortable negotiating complex terms and conditions and sourcing strategies.
  • Demonstrates strategic foresight and thought leadership when approaching tasks and ensures consensus of all key stakeholders.
  • Develop contractual SLAs and corresponding penalties to drive performance and expected outcomes.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future sourcing strategies.
  • Advance and manage the vendor diversity initiative for the dept via Tier 2 reporting and finding opportunities to increase spend where possible. May also include coordinating with the internal department to report on vendor diversity for customers.
  • Responsible for managing purchasing spend at the Company's international locations. Involves reviewing current structure/processes in place, documenting gaps, and putting forward recommendations to align with best practices.
  • Manage dept. tail spend by developing and implementing vendor consolidation or automation strategies.
  • Assist AVP, Strategic Vendor Solutions in setting appropriate project prioritization.
  • Monitor and analyze department KPIs and provide applicable reporting to the Director.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.  Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.  Master's or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Professional certifications such as a CPM, CPSM, or CSCMP are a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends and best practices in strategic sourcing
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills
