About the role


The Associate Director, PMO is a vital contributor within the Project Management Office (PMO) at CG Oncology. This unique hybrid role blends cross-functional project management with external engagement, scientific communications, and strategic narrative development. Leveraging deep experience in academic publishing, digital media, and thought leader collaboration, the individual in this role will help drive high-priority initiatives while also expanding CG Oncology’s external voice and credibility across the oncology ecosystem. Reporting to the AVP of Project Management, the Associate Director will contribute to key strategic projects, shape scientific and patient-facing narratives, and strengthen CG’s presence among external stakeholders including academic collaborators, advocacy groups, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and industry partners.

Essential Functions


External Engagement & Specialty Communications

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, academic collaborators, patient advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders.
  • Shape CG’s voice across scientific forums and digital channels through thoughtful content strategy, publication planning, and strategic messaging support.
  • Lead efforts to craft and elevate patient-centric narratives that align with CG Oncology’s clinical and commercial vision.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align messaging across medical, commercial, and clinical development teams.

Project & Strategic Initiative Management


  • Contribute to the planning and execution of cross-functional initiatives across the CG Oncology portfolio, including scientific communications, commercial readiness, and external partnerships.
  • Lead projects that sit at the intersection of science, strategy, and storytelling — including content planning, publication support, and key event coordination.
  • Support development and tracking of goals, milestones, and KPIs for initiatives led by the PMO and executive leadership.
  • Help structure and implement communication-focused workstreams within the broader PMO framework.

Thought Leadership & Visibility

  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to position CG Oncology as a visible and credible innovator in the oncology space.
  • Support scientific publication planning and promotional strategy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to increase CG’s presence at scientific meetings, industry events, and advocacy forums.
  • Bring a digital first mindset to amplify CG Oncology’s thought leadership through modern content channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (in English, Communications, Life Sciences, or related field); advanced degree or certification preferred.
  • Seven (7) years in publishing, communications, strategic engagement, or cross-functional project management within life sciences, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Proven success leading editorial or communications teams and collaborating with external stakeholders in an academic, medical, or scientific setting.
