Job Description
Purpose
The primary role is to function as a licensed pharmacist in charge (PIC), engaged in the practice of pharmacy for Pharmacy Solutions. The PIC is responsible to ensure the daily operations of the pharmacy are in compliant and in accordance with all Federal and State laws and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy; includes establishing and supervising the recordkeeping system and processes to but utilized for the purchase, sale, delivery, possession, storage, and safekeeping of drugs. Manages and develops effective performance of the team/individuals regarding the practice of pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal Pharmacy laws and regulations are met; Manages and develops effective performance of the team/individuals regarding the practice of pharmacy. Provide oversight for implementing and managing the effectiveness of the quality system by pharmacy licensure (for all necessary Pharmacy employees and across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, Federal and DEA requirements).
- Oversee policies and procedures that govern employee responsibilities as they relate to the practice of pharmacy, including appropriate in-process/end-process workflows, dispensing procedures, purchasing, inventory management, prescription and signature requirements, pharmacy hours, and patient counseling. Ensure physical and electronic security controls for the pharmacy, drug inventory and pharmacy records.
- Defines the boundaries of accepted risk tolerance within the department, negotiates with interdepartmental counterparts on projects having potential for significant legal or regulatory implications.
